Member qualification criteria
BevSA members are expected to be one of the following:
- Manufacturers, importers, producers, merchants and resellers of non-alcoholic products such as soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, bottled waters, flavoured and/or enhanced waters, ready-to-drink teas and coffees and dairy based beverages.
- Bottler, Franchiser or Distributors of non- alcoholic beverages
- Suppliers of Goods and Services (packaging, machinery, equipment, ingredients, laboratories) in the non- alcoholic beverages value chain

Government Relations
- BevSA is the only recognised industry association in the beverage sector
- Engage government at local, regional and national level to influence policy reform that ensures a conducive legislative and regulatory environment for our members
- Facilitate mutually beneficial relationships that collectively address the country’s developmental needs
- Serve as a link between the industry, government and the public
Stakeholder Relations
- Develop, lobby and lead exclusive networking platforms and initiatives with key local and international industry stakeholders
- Represent the industry at various stakeholder forums with an aim to educate, inform or influence relations
Communication Relations
- Build and protect the reputation of the industry
- Present the industry as a good corporate citizen
- Serve as a united voice of the industry on matters that directly or indirectly affect the wellbeing of the non-alcoholic beverage sector
- Serve as a reliable information portal on all matters relating to the non-alcoholic beverage sector
- Commission industry studies to help members understand both the economic and industrial environment, which allows them to align business processes and operations to the status quo.
Advisory Services
- Provide advisory services on legislative, regulatory matters that affect the nonalcoholic beverage sector
- Provide members with regulatory and legislative updates
Membership Terms:
- The subscription year is aligned to the BevSA financial year, which is 1 March to 28 February.
- Membership is subject to review and renewal at the end of each financial year.
- Payment of membership is to be made 30 days after receiving an invoice.
- All membership fees are to be paid within the first three months of the BevSA financial year.
- Members are required to comply with all relevant guidelines, policies, etc.
